Head of Finance

As Head of Finance, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for building and leading the finance function from the ground up. You’ll play a critical role in strategic decision-making and financial planning. At the same time, you won’t shy away from rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day financial operations as needed.

You will have one resource, but as the company grows you will build the financial function on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Sparing partner to the leadership team who develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Build and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
• Accounting & Compliance: Oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and manage external audits.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
• Hands-On Financial Operations: Take ownership of core finance tasks such as:
  • Managing and updating budget and forecast files
  • Supporting or performing bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly financial reports and dashboards
  • Coordinating with external accountants or bookkeeping services
• Team Building: Hire and lead a high-performing finance team as the company grows.
• Systems & Tools: Implement scalable financial systems, tools, and processes to support rapid growth.

What We’re Looking For

• You are ready for the next step in your career, or you bring proven experience from a senior finance role—ideally within a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
• You possess a strong financial skillset and a commercial mindset.
• You understand SaaS, e-commerce, or tech business models.
• You have experience working directly with management and Board members.
• You are comfortable taking ownership of both strategic and operational finance tasks, and you enjoy hands-on work as much as high-level planning.
• You possess strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, Power BI (or similar tools) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
• You’re a true team player with excellent communication skills
• Authorized accountant, cand.merc. or MBA is a plus but not required
