ChronosHub is proud to announce a collaboration with the Center for Open Science (COS), PsyArXiv, and the American Psychological Association (APA) to launch an APA journal submission portal for members of PsyArXiv, an Open Access digital repository for preprints of psychological research.

The Center for Open Science is pleased to announce a collaboration with PsyArXiv, the American Psychological Association (APA), and Chronos Hub to launch an APA journal submission portal for members of PsyArXiv, an open access digital repository for preprints of psychological research.
The integrated portal provides PsyArXiv authors and contributors with a streamlined workflow for submitting their preprints directly to an initial list of seven APA-published journals, allowing researchers to move more efficiently through the submission process in less time while widening the accessibility of their research.
This pilot is the first of its kind to bring an encompassing publishing experience to a preprint service hosted on the OSF’s preprint infrastructure and was advocated by APA to assist researchers in making their work more discoverable, while solving for the disconnected and complex research publishing journey across platforms. Development of the integration was conducted by Chronos Hub, whose mission is to help bring transparency and collaboration to a currently opaque and fragmented research ecosystem.
According to Grace Binion, chair of the PsyArXiv Communications Committee, “This designation signals the growing value the psychological community places on the services which PsyArXiv provides, namely increased discoverability of research products and increased accessibility of research to a broader audience.”

PsyArXiv is an open access digital repository for preprints of psychological research. The service is owned by the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS) and maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers from all career stages. PsyArXiv is hosted on the infrastructure of the Center for Open Science and the Open Science Framework. Plans for the service were conceived at the inaugural meeting SIPS in 2016. Since its official launch in December 2016, PsyArXiv has seen a dramatic growth in use, now hosting over 10,000 papers (as of June, 2020). From January 2019 to May 2020, monthly site downloads have increased by over 600% (from about 50,000 to over 300,000 ).
The American Psychological Association (APA) is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with more than 118,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students as its members. Chronos Hub is an online platform meeting the needs of all stakeholders in the research community: researchers, funders, institutions, and publishers.
