After issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) in May this year, the Geological Society of London has chosen the ChronosHub platform to process their article processing charges (APC) for both journal and book content.

The ChronosHub platform will enable the Society and its stakeholders to manage author charges, a range of read & publish agreements, discounts, billing, and reporting. These features will support their existing open access publishing operations and will allow them to deliver on future plans.
Geological Society authors will be able to confirm their choice of publishing route, including participation in an eligible agreement, and deal with the payment of any charges through ChronosHub. The platform will allow all authors to sign publishing agreements - both for open and closed access publication routes - or delegate the signature to someone else.
As well as providing authors with a streamlined publishing experience, all institutional and consortia customers of the Geological Society will have access to the platform. Institutions and consortia will be able to download reports on their authors’ publishing output, agreement uptake, and approve articles as part of a read and publish or transformative agreement.
