Aries Systems and ChronosHub Launch Enhanced Researcher Experience in Editorial Manager

North Andover, Massachusetts – Aries Systems Corporation, a leading technology workflow solutions provider for the scholarly publishing community, and ChronosHub, known for building connective infrastructure for modern publishing workflows, are pleased to announce the launch of a new Enhanced Researcher Experience within Editorial Manager® (EM). The new experience powered by ChronosHub delivers a faster, simpler, and more connected submission journey for authors.
For many researchers, submission is their first direct interaction with a publisher, and it shapes their long-term perception of the journal. Editorial Manager’s Enhanced Researcher Experience powered by ChronosHub transforms a multi-step process into a single-page, guided workflow. Fewer clicks and smart prompts reduce friction, while real-time validation ensures accuracy from the start. AI-powered metadata extraction captures key manuscript details in seconds, eliminating the need for manual entry.
At the center of the solution is a streamlined submission interface, complemented by two powerful new capabilities: Manuscript tracking and Journal Recommender. Manuscript tracking gives a centralized view providing researchers with real-time visibility into submissions, status, and activity across journals. The Journal Recommender provides intelligent guidance to help authors identify the most relevant journals for their work, improving fit, and reducing submission cycles.
To support the rollout and continuous improvement, Aries and ChronosHub have launched an Early Adopter Program (EAP), partnering with a select group of customers to validate and refine the experience in real-world environments. Early adopter partners will have the opportunity to provide input into ongoing enhancements to better serve the evolving needs of researchers, publishers, and the broader scholarly community.
“Increasingly authors expect greater simplicity and a more intuitive submission experience,” said Jennifer Fleet, Managing Director, Aries Systems. “By deepening our partnership with ChronosHub, we’re delivering a meaningfully improved experience in Editorial Manager that reduces complexity for researchers while helping publishers operate more efficiently.”
“This is the most streamlined submission experience we’ve delivered to date,” said Christian Grubak, CEO, ChronosHub. “The results show not just a faster process for authors, but also a more informed, supported one. And that raises the quality of submissions that journals receive.”
