Runway

Fix it at the front door

How do submissions cost you? Editors lose time to avoidable fixes. Authors lose patience re-entering the same details. And promising research gets rejected, then published elsewhere.

ChronosHub Runway heads off those costs, by automating checks, applying business rules, and integrating your preferred tools upfront. Submissions arrive readier for editorial assessment and peer review.

Give editors time back

More room for editorial judgement. Less effort spent on problems tech should catch.

Keep authors returning

A submission experience that’s refreshingly modern and genuinely helpful.

Make investments count

Put tools and expertise earlier, where they impact quality more effectively.

Powered by the ChronosHub platform

Current integrates with your PRS, so you don’t replace the workflows your editors rely on. The ChronosHub platform keeps things connected behind the scenes, allowing submissions, metadata, and statuses to flow back and forth.

This set-up lets you add the tools you need today, and change them tomorrow, without disrupting editorial operations.

The building blocks of Runway:

Pre-Submission

Start the author relationship off strong, before they upload a single file.

  • Sleek, branded catalogue of your entire portfolio.
  • Intuitive journal discovery and comparison tools.
  • Manuscript readiness checks authors can act upon

Submission

Move stronger manuscripts into peer review faster, with far less manual effort.

  • AI-powered extraction of manuscript and author data.
  • Automatic validation of funding policy compliance.
  • Seamless integration with your peer review system.

Manuscript checks

Catch quality issues at the point where they’re cheapest to fix.

  • Scope, grammar, and technical checks, configurable by stage.
  • Advice delivered back to the author to make improvements independently.
  • Vendor agnostic. You choose which tools to test, adopt, and swap out.

Manuscript tracking

Help authors and reviewers follow their manuscripts in real time, without chasing updates.

  • Kanban-style board to track every manuscript’s progress in one place.
  • Status and messages pulled directly from your peer review system.
  • Next-step prompts and reminders.

In the works

  • Real-time dashboard of workload and per-editor queues.
  • Signals such as scope fit and language readiness surfaced at desk decision.
  • In-built editor assignment and journal transfer options.
