WASHINGTON, Sept. 7, 2023 —The American Chemical Society (ACS) is proud to announce that ChronosHub is joining ACS as an independent subsidiary working alongside ACS Publications to enhance the publication experience for researchers.
As an ardent supporter of authors and open science, it was a natural fit for ACS to invest in ChronosHub — an innovative open access (OA) management platform that streamlines publishing workflows and ensures effective collaboration between all stakeholders. Together, ACS and ChronosHub will develop a new state-of-the-art, OA-friendly publishing experience that will simplify the complexities of today's scientific publishing environment.
“We’re excited to partner with ChronosHub’s talented staff and leverage its innovative technology to deliver a superior author experience,” says ACS Publications President James Milne, Ph.D. “By providing researchers a straightforward path to publication, we can help ensure that their focus remains on the quality of their work and the pursuit of scientific discovery.”
The supporting resources and expertise of ACS Publications will extend ChronosHub's ability to provide innovative solutions to publishers, institutions, and funders. ChronosHub will operate as an independent subsidiary with all customer data remaining protected and confidential behind a robust firewall between ACS and ChronosHub’s business functions.
“The alignment of vision and mission between ACS and ChronosHub presents a compelling opportunity to deliver an outstanding author experience for all researchers,” says Christian Bork Grubak, Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of ChronosHub. “We’re delighted to engage with ACS Publications to continue promoting open science and maximizing automation to let researchers focus their time on research.”
The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a nonprofit organization chartered by the U.S. Congress. ACS’ mission is to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and all its people. The Society is a global leader in promoting excellence in science education and providing access to chemistry-related information and research through its multiple research solutions, peer-reviewed journals, scientific conferences, eBooks and weekly news periodical Chemical & Engineering News. ACS journals are among the most cited, most trusted and most read within the scientific literature; however, ACS itself does not conduct chemical research. As a leader in scientific information solutions, its CAS division partners with global innovators to accelerate breakthroughs by curating, connecting and analyzing the world’s scientific knowledge. ACS’ main offices are in Washington, D.C., and Columbus, Ohio.
ChronosHub is an open access (OA) management platform that streamlines publishing workflows and ensures effective collaboration between researchers, institutions, funders, and publishers to promote open science. Since its founding in Denmark in 2017, ChronosHub has developed pre-submission, submission, and OA transaction solutions that drive a smoother path to publication in journals across the world. Through transparency, efficiency, and automation, ChronosHub improves the author experience and lets authors focus on research while ensuring effective management, reporting, and compliance with OA agreements and policies.
