Event duration January 29, 2024
Event location Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen, Denmark - The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) has partnered with ChronosHub to use their industry-leading platform to fortify MJFF's commitment to advancing Parkinson’s disease research and addressing the challenges associated with open access (OA) management.

Dedicated to accelerating the development of groundbreaking Parkinson’s disease treatments with the goal of eliminating the disease in our lifetime, MJFF has developed an open access policy. This policy mandates that all research funded by MJFF is openly accessible to the scientific community.

However, some challenges remain for researchers and administrators. In response, MJFF is now leveraging the ChronosHub platform to process article processing charges (APC) funding requests for the Foundation. The innovative platform is set to automate processes, alleviate the administrative burden on grantees, and offer a streamlined publishing journey.

“We are very pleased to partner with ChronosHub to streamline MJFF’s open science efforts”, says Michelle Durborow, Senior Vice President of Research Operations at MJFF. “The platform will automate much of the previously time-consuming and manual work that is necessary along the publishing journey. We anticipate this new service will be much appreciated by our grantees, and enable them to spend more time on research accelerating the progress towards finding a cure to Parkinson’s disease.”

"MJFF is an exemplary organization, and we are honored to support it," expresses Christian Grubak, CEO at ChronosHub. "Our platform is purpose-built to unburden researchers, and this collaboration exemplifies our mission in action. By enabling MJFF to efficiently utilize our technology, we are directly contributing to the acceleration of groundbreaking research, adding profound meaning to our endeavors."
