ChronosHub and the University of Lausanne (UNIL) collaborate to streamline and simplify the university’s open-access management processes.

Moving forward, ChronosHub will support UNIL in managing their centralized open access fund covering gold OA and automate the monitoring of UNIL’s OA agreements.

Our ultimate goal is to make Open Access publishing so simple that administrative issues would no longer play a role in it. We want to give our researchers the possibility to focus on their research, and managing Open Access with ChronosHub should help us achieve just that“, says Dr. Micaela Crespo Quesada, Open Access Coordinator at UNIL.
The collaboration launch is in two phases. The initial phase includes a public journal finder featuring more than 45,000 journals. Researchers get guidance on which publishing routes are compliant with different funding policies and see any publishing fees, considering UNIL’s publisher agreements.
ChronosHub will also be used to automate data collection and eligibility checks of accepted articles that are part of any of UNIL’s OA agreements. This will reduce the faculty’s overall administrative workload by ensuring that administrators can easily monitor and manage their publisher agreements and gain access to comprehensive data and analytics on all published articles – directly in one system.
In 2022, phase two of the collaboration will include automated payments of APCs and managing repository submissions without the burden of costly administration.
